The Brand

St. Agrestis
Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn has always pushed the creative boundaries, and at St. Agrestis we're no different. We believe the only way to ensure the highest degree of quality is to create it. Producing hand-made non-alcoholic beverages using old world methods, St. Agrestis is for the modern drinker. The brand sources globally for the best wild herbs, spices, roots, seeds and citruses, focusing on organic ingredients, and has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appetit, The Washington Post, Food & Wine, The Wall Street Journal, CNN and Inc.
View brand profile →The Founder's Note
St. Agrestis was founded by brothers Louis and Matt Catizone, sons of an Italian immigrant father and a first-generation Italian-American mother from Brooklyn, who partnered with industry veteran Steven DeAngelo to establish the company. Their concept grew out of Nonnina's table and a shared passion for Italian beverage and food culture, including early exposure to amaro at family dinners.
How It's Made
Everything happens within the walls of the brand's Greenpoint, Brooklyn distillery, from product development and production to bottling. For its Phony line of non-alcoholic cocktails, St. Agrestis says its process is built to maintain the flavors, aromas, color and mouthfeel of a proper cocktail from the ground up, rather than by dealcoholizing an existing alcoholic recipe.
Tasting Notes
Driven by nuanced notes of herbal spice, mint and bitter complexity from gentian root, with a refreshingly bittersweet finish. Key botanicals include clove, spearmint and gentian root.
