San Hagen was founded by Stine Kidemose Jensen, a trained chef with a refined palate who splits her time between San Diego, California and Copenhagen, Denmark. Even before its official launch, San Hagen Tequila had already earned recognition, taking home four international awards for flavor and one for the Blanco.
How It's Made
San Hagen uses 100% Blue Weber Agave, hand-harvested at peak maturity by skilled Mexican jimadores in Jalisco. The pinas are cooked in masonry ovens for 40 hours, then shredded and mixed with volcanic water. The juice is open-fermented using only native yeasts and double-distilled in stainless steel stills with copper coils. Production is entrusted to the brand's manufacturing partner, La Cofradia, a distillery in Mexico with over 50 years of experience (NOM 1137, Jalisco, Los Valles).
