Our Story

Spinnaker is an independent rum bottler out of Austin, Texas, built around a single idea: rum deserves the same transparency whiskey drinkers take for granted. Rather than blending a house style from scratch, Spinnaker hunts down single casks from legendary Caribbean distilleries, bottles them additive-free and at full proof, and puts the real distillery of origin front and center on the label instead of hiding behind a made-up brand name. The inaugural launch collection brings together four single-cask rums from Foursquare, Port Mourant, Hampden, and Worthy Park, each finished in Still Austin bourbon barrels.

The Founders

Founder Kevin McBrayer is an Austin native who spent years working across the beverage world before landing on rum, roasting coffee, brewing beer, mixing cocktails, and eventually distilling his own spirits. He built a deep interest in bourbon, scotch, and agave spirits first, and came to rum expecting less complexity than he found. Convinced the category's best bottles were being overlooked, buried under bland white and spiced rum on most shelves, he started Spinnaker to source and bottle additive-free rum that is honest about what it is.

How We Make It

Spinnaker sources additive-free rum directly from distilleries in the Caribbean, hunting single casks and curating blends, then finishes select barrels locally in Austin, Texas. Every release in the inaugural collection is a single cask, bottled without additives or coloring at the cask's natural proof.
