Craft Gin
43 expressions from 21 independent distilleries
Gin is a spirit flavored with juniper and a mix of other botanicals, which makes it one of the most expressive categories for a small distillery. The juniper is the constant; everything else is a chance to show where a gin comes from.
The gins on DiscoCraft lean hard into California. St. George Spirits built Terroir Gin around Douglas fir and California bay laurel, Storyhouse Spirits and Seven Caves Spirits make coastal-named gins like Torrey Pines and La Jolla Cove, and Calwise Spirits makes its Big Sur Gin in Paso Robles. You will also find classic London dry styles, barrel-aged gins and a navy strength gin from Dead of Night Distillery in Los Angeles.

Questions
Gin questions, answered
What is the difference between London dry gin and other gins?
London dry is a style, not a place. The botanicals are distilled together with the spirit and nothing but water is added after distillation, which gives a crisp, juniper-led gin. Other styles may add flavor or color after distilling, or rest the gin in barrels.
What is navy strength gin?
Navy strength gin is bottled at ~57% ABV meaning it packs a punch. The higher proof carries more botanical flavor and holds up well in cocktails.
Is gin usually distilled the same way as vodka?
Essentially, yes. Both start as a neutral spirit, usually distilled from grain. The difference is what happens next: to become gin, that spirit is flavored with juniper berries and other botanicals like coriander, citrus peel and angelica root. Most quality gins are redistilled with those botanicals, either steeped in the spirit or suspended above it so the vapor picks up their flavor. Juniper has to lead, which is why gin tastes piney and vodka tastes clean.
