New Alchemy Distilling
Our Story
New Alchemy Distilling began as an idea in a research laboratory, where its two founders first met. That idea grew into a small, distiller-owned and operated business now involving additional members of their families. The team combines artistic and technical skillsets to bring new perspectives to classic spirits, using neutral spirit distilled in-house for their vodka and gin rather than sourcing it, and a custom-built still for vapor-path botanical extraction. Every new batch, no matter how small, gets tasted by the whole team before it's bottled.
How We Make It
New Alchemy distills its own neutral spirit in-house from wine grapes rather than sourcing it, which they say produces subtler flavors than larger brands get from bought base spirit. Gin botanicals are hand sorted, weighed, and ground, then extracted by vapor-path distillation using a still the founders designed and built themselves. Their vodka goes through a proprietary further-purification technique.
