Hollywood Distillery
Our Story
Founded in 2016 by three longtime Hollywood residents who kept wondering why their neighborhood - famous for its cocktail culture - still had no distillery of its own. California Assembly Bill 1246 finally opened a regulatory path for craft distillers, nearly a century after Prohibition closed it. Hollywood Distillery now operates out of a converted 1920s Pierce Brothers Mortuary on Santa Monica Blvd, across from Hollywood Forever Cemetery - the first working distillery in Hollywood in almost 100 years.
The Founders
Ferris, Jeff, and Larry didn't come from the spirits industry - they were just three neighbors who couldn't understand why a neighborhood this obsessed with cocktails had never had a distillery of its own. AB 1246 gave them a legal path that hadn't existed in Hollywood for a century, and they took a decommissioned 1920s mortuary and turned it into a working still.
How We Make It
Everything is made from 100% California-sourced ingredients in small batches. Their signature innovation is Oasis Date Vodka, distilled from organic Medjool dates grown at Oasis Date Farm in the Coachella Valley - a base ingredient no one else in the category is using.
